The Mini MaxLock Extreme™ MTP Plates are anatomically contoured to fit the 1st ray of smaller patients and can be used with or without PocketLock™ Technology which allows an interfragmentary screw to be utilized through the plate across the MTP joint.
The Mini MTP Plates are an extension of the Mini MaxLock Extreme™ system and are intended for smaller patient anatomies. The anatomic contour and low profile of the plates provides an accurate fit for the 1st MTP. Plates are 1.3 mm thick and available for both left and right 1st rays. The plates are offered in versions with and without PocketLock™ Technology, which combines the compressive strength of a lag screw with the rigidity of a plate.
The system contains Tribrid™ Technology which can accommodate non-locking, fixed-angle locking, and variable-angle locking screws. Surgeons have access to all three screw options in one set and can decide intraoperatively which screw option is best for the patient’s procedure. The screws have a HexStar™ drive that may reduce the chance of stripping, a blunt tip that may reduce tendon abrasion, and a hybrid screw thread design that maximizes purchase and bite.
The variable-angle locking design does not compromise the strength of any of the locking holes. This option utilizes a Mini PEEK ring which is inserted into the fixed-angle locking holes of all Mini MaxLock Extreme plates. Once the 2.4 mm variable-angle locking screw is inserted through the Mini PEEK ring, it interfaces to create a locked construct with up to 30º of conical freedom.
The Mini MaxLock Extreme Plating System is intended to stabilize and aid in the repair of fractures, fusions, and osteotomies for small bones and bone fragments.
